In addition to in-person sessions, the SLU Writing Center offers three options for remote appointments: phone appointments, online chat appointments, and Written Feedback.

Phone appointments allow students to talk with a Writing Consultant in real time over the phone. If you would like a phone appointment: 1) Select "meet online" in the first drop-down; 2) Enter your phone number; 3) At your appointment time, log into your appointment and click on "start or join online consultation." Doing this will allow you to share your work with your Consultant and share a screen as you work through it together. (If you will not have access to a computer, that's ok; you can still have a phone appointment.)

Written Feedback allows students to submit a paper to the Writing Center and receive written feedback on the paper within two business days of submission. To submit a paper for written feedback, select the Written Feedback calendar from the “choose a schedule” drop-down on the log-in page, then click on the box for the day to attach your paper.

Online chat appointments allow students to chat in real time with a Writing Consultant. When signing up for an appointment, select “Schedule Online Appointment” from the “Meet Online?” drop-down menu.

In-person and phone appointments are 50 minutes long. You are welcome to attach your paper to your appointment, but please know that your Consultant may not be able to read it in advance.

Please also note our cancellation policy.
